Courses and Activities

General

Courses and Activities are organised programmes by The Grassroots’ Club designed to support members’ social, educational, recreational, and developmental interests. These include fitness classes, workshops, talks, and leisure activities for individuals and families.

Courses and Activities are open exclusively to members of The Grassroots’ Club. Selected programmes may also be extended to guests of members, depending on the nature of the activity.

The Club offers a wide range of programmes such as:

  • Fitness and Wellness (e.g., Yoga, Spin, Zumba)
  • Arts and Crafts (e.g., Punch Needle, Pottery, Painting)
  • Dance and Music
  • Educational Workshops and Talks
  • Family and Recreational Activities

Booking Rules

There are no restrictions on repeat bookings since the system limits members to one active booking at a time. However, if demand exceeds supply, the Club may introduce additional regulations to manage over-application.

There is no limit to the number of Courses or Activities you can register for. However, members are reminded to attend all sessions they have registered for. Failure to attend without prior cancellation may result in penalties as outlined under the Cancellations and No-Shows section.

Members may register up to 3 months in advance. Registration is confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to slot availability.

Booking Process

No. The current system does not include a waitlist or ballot function. Members are encouraged to check the system regularly for new availability.

You will have 15 minutes to complete your booking.
If you do not finalise it within this time, the system will automatically release the pass back to the pool for other members to book.

Bookings are automatically confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to pass availability.

Term of Use

Bring your NRIC and membership card along with the email booking confirmation for verification.

No. bookings are strictly non-transferable and must be used by the member who made the booking, unless otherwise approved.

Cancellations and No-Shows

Please cancel your booking at least 3 working days before the course start date to allow other members the opportunity to register.

Log in to the Booking System to view your active and past registrations, make cancellations, or register for new courses.

Yes. The Club reserves the right to adjust course and activities schedules, regulations, or participation rules to ensure fairness and accommodate demand.

  • Subsequent offences: Booking privileges may be suspended for 3 months.

Group Buy

General

Yes, members can participate in interest groups and sub-committees that match their roles or personal interests. This allows for focused activities, learning opportunities, and stronger connections within each group.

Members are grouped based on the committees they serve in, such as Community Centre/Club Management Committees, Citizens’ Consultative Committees, Residents’ Committees, Senior Citizens’, Women’s, and Youth Executive Committees. This helps facilitate networking, shared activities, and targeted programmes.

Use of Coupon

General

Yes, all coupons come with a validity period. Please check the expiry date printed on the coupon or in the promotion details. Expired coupons cannot be redeemed.

You can redeem your coupon at participating club facilities or partner merchants by presenting it at the point of purchase or entering the unique coupon code online, if applicable.

Corporate Passes

General

Corporate Passes are membership or admission passes owned by the Club, allowing members or authorised users to enjoy complimentary or discounted entry to selected attractions, facilities, or partner clubs.

Corporate Passes are available exclusively to members of The Grassroots’ Club. Eligibility may vary depending on the type of pass.

The Club offers a variety of passes, including those for:

  • Local attractions
  • Partner clubs or sports facilities
  • Leisure or recreational venues

Booking Rules

Yes. Each member is allowed only one active booking at any time. A new booking can only be made after the previous booking has been used or completed.
Example: If you have booked a Family Pass for June, you can only make your next booking after that pass has been used.

1. What is The Grassroot's Club (TGC)?

The Grassroot’s Club (TGC) is an exclusive club established to recognize and support Grassroots Leaders in Singapore. It serves as a central hub for social, educational, recreational, and leadership development activities.

2. When was The Grassroot's Club founded?

The club’s origins trace back to March 1992 when the Ministry of Community Development (MCD) and the National Community Organisations Council (NCOC) set up the Grassroots’ Recreation Club (GRC). It evolved into The Grassroots’ Club following a series of developments and government support.

3. Who can join The Grassroot's Club?

Membership is exclusive to Grassroots Leaders in Singapore. This includes members from Citizen’s Consultative Committees, Resident’s Committees, Community Centre/Club Management Committees, Senior Citizen’s Executive Committees, Women’s Executive Committees, and Youth Executive Committees.

4. Why was The Grassroot's Club established?

The club was created to recognize the contributions of grassroots leaders and to provide a dedicated space that supports their social engagement, training, and recreational needs—ultimately strengthening the grassroots network across Singapore.

5. Where is The Grassroot's Club located?

It is strategically located near Yio Chu Kang MRT Station, as announced by then Prime Minister Mr. Goh Chok Tong in 1994, to provide easy access to grassroots members islandwide.

6. What led to the formation of a new clubhouse?

The original clubhouse at Sennett Community Centre could no longer meet the growing needs of grassroots leaders due to limited facilities. This prompted the government to build a new and better-equipped clubhouse at a more central location.

7. What is the vision of The Grassroot's Club?

The Club aims to be the Club of choice for Grassroots Leaders in Singapore, providing a strong platform for community bonding and leadership development.
